Spiro Kiousis Comments on the Democratic Party’s Possible Use of Alternative Media During Elections
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Public Relations Professor and Executive Associate Dean Spiro Kiousis was quoted in “The Democratic Party and the Future of Legacy Media” published in the Washington Examiner on Nov. 29.
The article focuses on the Democratic Party’s losses during the recent election and why a new media strategy is needed. Communication experts weighed in on the value of alternative media versus legacy media.
Kiousis believes alternative media is valuable because “it broadens your message, the reach of your message, especially during the general election … [and] exposes your message to a wider variety of voters and stakeholders.”
He adds, “It remains to be seen” if Democrats will embrace alternative media.”
