WUFT Media Services and UFCJC Student Honored in 2025 AVA Digital Awards Competition
WUFT Media Services, in the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Division of Media Properties, has received one Platinum, one Gold and two Honorable Mentions in the 2025 AVA Digital Awards competition honoring excellence in digital creativity, branding and strategy.
In the Program category, the 2024 production of the UF School of Music’s “Sounds of the Season: Songs of Hope and Joy” received a Platinum award and “WUFT Amplified: The Savants” and “Artistry in Motion” received Honorable Mentions. “Student Journalists Serve the State with Critical Story Updates” received a Gold award in the corporate category.
In addition, Sophia Abolfathi, UFCJC Media Production, Management, and Technology senior, received a Gold award for “March of the Mangroves” in the Documentary category.
WUFT Media Services, under the direction of Matt Abramson, B.S. Telecommunication 2007, M.A.M.C. 2020, includes team members Lorenzo Phrasavath, Taylor Vorburger and Taylor Johnson. The department specializes in live event production, live studio talkbacks, broadcast television programs, advertising and marketing content, podcasting, 360 content and photography.
