UFCJC Advertising Faculty, Doctoral Students and Alumni Recognized at 2025 AAA Annual Conference

University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Advertising faculty and graduate students participated in the 2025 American Academy of Advertising (AAA) Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from March 6-9, 2025.

Yang Feng, UFCJC Advertising associate professor in artificial intelligence (AI), received the 2025 AAA Research Fellowship for her research study “Vague vs. Explicit: Navigating AI Aversion Through Strategic AI Labeling in Advertising.” Yang is the only scholar that has received this award four times.

Feng, Huan Chen, UFCJC Advertising associate professor and chair, and Southern Methodist University Assistant Professor Quan Xie received the 2025 Journal of Interactive Advertising Best Article Award for “AI Influencers in Advertising: The Role of AI Influencer-Related Attributes in Shaping Consumer Attitudes, Consumer Trust, and Perceived Influencer–Product Fit.” UFCJC doctoral student Simona Rivera was awarded a Graduate Student Conference Travel Scholarship.

AAA Conference presenters included UFCJC faculty members Olivia Bullock, Yang Feng, Juliana Fernandes, Jeongmin Ham, Benjamin Johnson, Won Ki Moon, Yuan Sun, Jinping Wang, Kasey Windels and Cynthia Morton, three doctoral students, Sarah Karl, Simona Rivera and Qingyuan Yang and master’s student Xinyi Zuo.
