CJC Students Honored in NATAS 2020 Suncoast Chapter Student Production Awards
A University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications student film and two news reports were honored in the National Academy of Arts and Sciences (NATAS) 2020 Suncoast Chapter Student Production Awards competition.
The winners include:
Short-Form Fiction Film: “The Lead” by Madalin Stenzel, B.S. Telecommunication 2019, and Parker Bohner, B.S. Telecommunication 2018. Telecommunication Lecturer Iman Zawahry advised the students on this project.
General Assignment Serious News: “Creating a New Normal” by Hasley Pittman, B.S. Telecommunication 2020
Magazine Program: “After the Eye” by Dolores Hinckley, B.S. Telecommunication 2019; Valerie Lyons, B.S. Telecommunication 2020; Zach Oliveri, B.S. Telecommunication 2020; Telecommunication junior Samantha Green; Hasley Pitman, B.S. Telecommunication 2020;
Alexis Howard, B.S. Telecommunication 2020; Maria Roberts, B.S. Telecommunication 2019; Quan McWil, B.S. Telecommunication 2020; Daniella Mora, B.S. Telecommunication 2020, and Telecommunication senior JT Santos
The second annual Suncoast Student Production Awards encouraged the pursuit of excellence in video production and focus public attention on outstanding achievements produced by college, university and high school students.
Earlier this year, “The Lead” won the Best of Festival Award in the Broadcast Education Association’s Festival of Media Arts Student Film & Video Competition Narrative category.
