CJC Alumna Reappointed to Florida Gaming Control Commission
Julie Brown, B.S. Public Relations 1997, has been reappointed to the Florida Gaming Control Commission by Governor Ron DeSantis. She has served as Chair since January 2022. The Gaming Control Commission regulates all forms of gambling authorized by the Florida Constitution.
Brown is the former Secretary of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Previously, she spent ten years on the Florida Public Service Commission, serving as Chair from 2016 to 2018.
She is a graduate of Leadership Florida, served on the Florida Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission and is a former President of the League of Women Voters of Hillsborough County. She also earned a law degree from the UF.
