UFCJC Doctoral Student Receives UF Health Cancer Center Predoctoral Research Award
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) doctoral student Diliara Bagautdinova has received a 2022 UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) Predoctoral Award. The $10,000 grant is in support of her dissertation research which is focused on understanding supportive family and clinical communication to enhance the psychosocial care of adolescent and young adult cancer patients and survivors.
The UFHCC Predoctoral Awards recognize and support outstanding predoctoral candidates who are conducting innovative cancer research. They are awarded annually to up to five graduate students.
In the last six months, Bagautdinova has received a total of $14,500 in dissertation funding including two grant awards from the Moffitt Cancer Center’s Geographic Management of Cancer Health Disparities Program (GMaP) Region 2/ National Cancer Institute (NCI) and a UFCJC dissertation grant.
UFCJC doctoral student Amanda Kastrinos received this award in 2020.
