UFCJC Faculty and Students to Present at International Communication Association Conference
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) faculty and doctoral students will be participating in 46 sessions at the 2023 International Communication Association (ICA) conference, being held May 25-29, 2023, in Toronto. ICA is one of the premier academic conferences for communication scholars.
Research awards for UFCJC faculty include:
- Journalism Assistant Professor Rachel Grant, whose research was selected as Top ICA Article in the Ethnicity and Race in Communication Division for “Selling Breonna: Twitter Responses to Breonna Taylor on the Covers of O, The Oprah Magazine and Vanity Fair.”
- Journalism Assistant Professor Celeste Wagner, who won Best Dissertation Award in the Global Communication and Social Change Division for “Responding to Media Coverage of Gender-Based Violence in Argentina and the United States: A Mixed Methods Study of the Intersecting Roles of Gender, Class, and Racialized Ethnicity Among General and Activist Publics.”
