Two New Courses Available for CJC Students – RTV4930 and ADV4930
We’re thrilled to announce, in collaboration with the Advertising and MPMT Departments, The Agency has co-developed two courses tailored for students aspiring to work in marketing, advertising, public relations, and consulting firms post-graduation.
1. RTV4930 – Cinematic Storytelling for Marketing and Advertising
This course, taught by the award-winning director Iman Zawahry, offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into cinematic composition techniques specifically tailored for marketing and advertising. Throughout the semester, you’ll develop the skills to create compelling content within a brand strategy, learning how to apply narrative across various mediums such as TV, radio, social, billboards, and more. Beyond the theoretical knowledge, this course is designed to provide a hands-on experience, offering a great opportunity to build your portfolio and enhance your practical understanding of storytelling in the context of marketing and advertising
2. ADV4930 – Agency Essentials
Taught by Lainey Johnson, Head of Brand and Paid Media for the Americas at Earnst & Young, this course delves into the essential aspects of agency operations and best practices. Throughout the semester, you’ll gain valuable insights into the diverse roles within an agency and develop the skills needed to work effectively in a marketing, advertising, public relations, or consulting firm environment. The course is designed to equip you with strategies for selling big ideas, understand how agencies run operationally, learn the basic fundamentals of running your own agency, how to work and manage partners and teams, develop strong relationships with clients, and foster successful collaborations with real-world practitioners. Please note, ADV3008 is a prerequisite for this course.
Drop/Add ends on Jan 12. Feel free to reach out to the CJC advising office if you have any questions.
These two courses are designed to provide students with valuable insights into working within marketing, advertising, public relations, and consulting firms. They offer a unique opportunity for students to gain industry-specific knowledge without the extensive time commitment required to join The Agency program. This is also a great way for students to see the inside of the program before applying.
