Jeongmin Ham, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor - Department of Advertising


Jeongmin Ham is an assistant professor in the Advertising Department. Her research delves into new media advertising, human-computer interaction, media psychology and media effects. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 2024, with a dissertation that explored the role of virtual humans—both AI- and human-driven entities—in advertising. Her work focused on how these virtual endorsers, with their realistic appearances and behaviors, can use digital narratives and storytelling strategies to enhance brand perceptions and address negative attitudes.

Ham has contributed to eight peer-reviewed articles published or under review, with her work appearing in the Journal of Interactive Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Computers in Human Behavior, and Telematics and Informatics. She has also authored three published abstracts and proceedings and presented nine conference papers. In recognition of her outstanding research, she received the Top Special Topic Paper Award in the Advertising Division at the 2024 AEJMC Annual Conference.
