Roxane Coche Served as a Visiting Professor at Université de Toulon BABEL Lab

University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Media Production, Management, and Technology (MPMT) Associate Professor and Department Chair Roxane Coche was a visiting professor at the Université de Toulon BABEL lab in France for two weeks in May. The BABEL Lab is a multidisciplinary facility for the development of languages, literature, civilizations and societies.

Coche was hosted by  Arnaud Richard, professor at Toulon and president of the French National Olympic Academy. Coche met Richard when she received a research grant from the Académie Nationale Olympique Française (ANOF), through its Olympic Studies Center, to examine and evaluate the legacy of the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics. She is now collaborating with Richard as France prepares to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Coche, one of only two international candidates selected for a visiting professorship, participated in local conferences related to the Paris Olympics and spoke about linguistics, media and the Olympics.
