The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications sponsors awards for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) “Salute to Excellence” program and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) “Ñ Awards.”

The NABJ Salute to Excellence awards recognize journalism that best covers the Black experience or addresses issues affecting the worldwide Black community. The University of Florida Award in Multimedia Investigative Journalism includes two awards of up to $5,000 for each of two market categories, small/medium and large.

The NAHJ Ñ Awards honor excellence in journalism that represents Hispanic communities. The University of Florida Award in Investigative Journalism includes two awards of up to $5,000 for each of two categories, small/medium and large media.

Both awards recognize the top multimedia investigative stories that, in part, shed light on wrongdoing, injustice, corruption and abuse of power affecting underrepresented communities of color as a result of policies, individuals and/or corporations.
