UFCJC Advertising Junior Receives a 2024 UF Outstanding International Undergraduate Student Award
Carolina Gutierrez, a University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Advertising junior from Bolivia, is the recipient of one of the UF International Center’s 2024 Outstanding International Undergraduate Student Awards. This marks the second year in a row that a UFCJC student has earned this distinguished recognition.
The awards recognize international undergraduate students who have distinguished themselves by excelling in their studies while advancing a global citizenship mindset and contributing to the international profile of the UF community. The honor comes with a $1,000 award.
According to Huan Chen, UFCJC Advertising associate professor and department chair, “Carolina’s outstanding achievements embody the spirit of resilience, leadership and community engagement that we strive to cultivate in our students. Her ability to excel academically, while making significant professional and cultural contributions, highlights the extraordinary impact she has had within our department and beyond. This award is a testament to her hard work and dedication, and we are incredibly proud to see her recognized on this prestigious platform.”
The award will be presented at the 30th annual International Student Achievement Awards ceremony on Nov. 19 at the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom on the UF campus in Gainesville.
