The Finca Vigia Foundation and The National Trust for Historic Preservation will be presented the Heritage Award for International Excellence from the International Council on Monuments and Sites tonight, Nov. 9, in Washington D.C. at the 2010 Ann Webster Smith Award Gala.
Bob Vila (JM 1969) is Co-Chair of The Finca Vigia Foundation’s Board of Directors. Vila, the original host of TV’s “This Old House,’’ is the son of Cuban parents.
“The mission of The Finca Vigía Foundation (formerly known as the Hemingway Preservation Foundation, Inc.) is to work collaboratively with Cuban colleagues to restore and preserve Ernest Hemingway’s home, Finca Vigía, its contents, and the famous fishing boat, Pilar.”
