CJC Office of Careers and Corporate Partnerships (OCCP) 

The OCCP maintains a jobs and internships database that includes listings for graduate student employment opportunities, including assistantships for master’s students when available.

CJC Travel Funds

The Graduate Studies and Research Division grants CJC travel funds to students who are accepted to present papers at conferences. A complete list of available travel funding beyond CJC can be found on the University of Florida’s Graduate School site.

Graduate Student Council Grants

The GSC offers grants to students traveling domestically and internationally for conferences and professional development. All students in eligible departments may apply for the grants. The application can be found at our grants website. All questions about grants should be directed to gscgrants@gmail.com.

UFIC International Student Emergency Hardship Scholarship

The UFIC has established a scholarship for international students experiencing unforeseen financial difficulties that are beyond their control.

Scarborough Scholarship

The Scarborough agency established this award to show appreciation for the opportunity to work with international students at the University of Florida.

UF/SFC Development Project

The UF/SFC Development Project is a partnership between the University of Florida and local Santa Fe College that aims to increase faculty diversity at SFC, while providing minority and underrepresented doctoral students at UF with valuable teaching experience. Participants teach three courses per year at SFC and assist in its recruitment and retention of minority and underrepresented students. This program pays tuition, fees and a stipend, an award that may be funded for a maximum of four years. Participants must be US citizens who have a master’s degree in an approved field.

Fulbright

The Fulbright program involves the participation of a large set of collaborating partners in supporting Fulbright fellows at the University of Florida.

UF Center for European Studies Travel Grant

The UF Center for European Studies (CES) offers annual competitions for graduate student travel grants to assist UF graduate students with travel to Europe to pursue dissertation research, or to present work at a scholarly conference or workshop. These grants are open to all UF graduate students regardless of discipline as long as the subject of the research or talk is related to contemporary Europe.

National Women’s Studies Association Graduate Scholarship(opens in new tab)

NWSA will award a student who, in the fall of the year of the award, will be engaged in the research or writing stages of a Master’s Thesis or Ph.D. Dissertation in the interdisciplinary field of women’s studies. The research project must enhance the NWSA mission.

Richard A. Horovitz Fund for Professional Development

The Horovitz Fund is dedicated to African artists and scholars in the humanities and social sciences. A one-time award is granted to one or two students for graduate study for a 12 month period. The amount of the award normally ranges from $6,000 to $8,000.

To be eligible for the Richard A. Horovitz Fund for Professional Development, you must:

  • Be a citizen of a sub-Saharan African country
  • At the time of funding, be a graduate student, researcher or artist in a program at an accredited U.S. university, cultural or artistic institution (on a F or J visa)
  • Specialize in the humanities, arts or social sciences
  • Demonstrate academic achievement, by transcripts and letters of recommendation from faculty members
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Not be currently funded by an established education grant program (for example, a Fulbright grantee could not also be a Horovitz grantee)

James W. Kynes Scholarship

The James W. Kynes scholarship support NCAA undergraduate student athletes, who wish to pursue graduate or professional studies at UF. This endowment funds up to two scholarships with a stipend up to $10,000 annually.

Madelyn Lockhardt Dissertation Fellowship (doctoral)

The Association for Academic Women offers awards up to $2,000 yearly to assist in the dissertational phase of the doctoral degree program. Applicants must apply through their department/college by November.

McKnight Doctoral Fellowship (doctoral)

The Florida Education Fund supports new Ph.D. students with the aim to broaden the background among faculty in the state of Florida. Applications must be submitted before January 15.

FAMU Feeder Fellowship (doctoral)

The FAMU Feeder allows student from Florida A&M University (FAMU) to pursue graduate degrees not offered at FAMU. UF offers up to five fellowships each year for Doctor of Philosophy or terminal Master of Fine Arts degree programs.

McNair Doctoral Program (doctoral)

This fellowship supports student who successfully completed the McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program as undergraduate McNair Scholars. The fellowship includes a stipend, tuition waiver, fee waiver, and health insurance for up to four years for a Ph.D. student.

Supplemental Retention Scholarship (doctoral)

Supports UF doctoral students who are three or fewer semesters away from graduating but no longer eligible to receive fellowships, assistantships, or other funding from their department or college.

Center for European Studies Graduate Student Course Development Grant

Center for European Studies will support up to three graduate students to develop and teach new Europe-related courses.

Davis-Putter Scholarship Fund

The Davis-Putter Scholarship Fun provides grants to students actively working for peace and justice.

Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowships (doctoral)

Supports the ethnic and racial diversity of college and universities faculty. Provides three year of support for a research based Ph.D degree for those pursuing a career in academic teaching and research.
