What are you teaching this semester?
I am teaching a course I created which is RTV4930 Media Management in TV and Film. I’m also helping to teach MMC3420 Consumer & Audience Analytics.
What is your area of expertise?
My areas of expertise are content development, pitching, animation, and teens/children’s programming.
Significant other, children, pets?
I have a wonderful golden retriever named Sage who is the center of my world.
What excites you most about coming to Gainesville?
The wonderful food and the amazing students.
What accomplishments, personal or professional, are you most proud of?
My greatest overall accomplishment would be when I created my YouTube channel, Cooking With Carlina. This was the platform that launched my career and ultimately how Disney discovered me. My personal accomplishment would be my charity work which is training service dogs for veterans and others with disabilities. My professional accomplishment would have to be working on Cocomelon because kids will watch it forever.
Your hero or biggest inspiration (alive or historical)?
My hero is Celine Dion because despite going through a rough time, she always finds the strength to keep fighting and sharing her talent with the world.
What three things don’t we know about you?
- As a UF undergrad, I was an Aerospace Engineering major before switching to the CJC, so I’m a math geek.
- I love horseback riding but rarely find time to ride.
- I was on Disney’s Muppets Now as talent a few years ago and had no idea it was going to be on Disney+.
