Brandon Meyer is a visiting lecturer in the Journalism Department. A 2019 graduate of the college, he returned to UF in 2021 on a data fellowship where he built Florida Data, a state-centric public records warehouse used by more than 500 journalists in 44 newsrooms across the state. In 2022 he launched FreshTake.Vote, a popular automated statewide election turnout tracker. He previously worked at the Tampa Bay Times as a digital designer and producer and spent five years in Iraq and Afghanistan designing and building data networks for NATO and the United States Marine Corps.
