Administrative Specialist - Brechner Center for the Advancement of the First Amendment
In her role, Katherine will serve both the Joseph L. Brechner Freedom of Information Project and the Marion B. Brechner First Amendment Project. In addition to administrative duties, she provides research and communications support for project initiatives.
Prior to joining Brechner, Katherine served as a media intern for the American Civil Liberties Union for seven months. During her time with the ACLU, Katherine helped research and report on civil rights casework, including litigation and advocacy efforts on the issue of free speech.
As a student at UF, Katherine was involved with the Bob Graham Center for Public Service and the Frank Karel Fellowship for Public Interest Communications.
As a result of her work in civic engagement and community leadership, she was nationally recognized as a Phi Beta Kappa Key into Public Service Scholar. She continues to pursue her passion for public service at the Brechner Center. In the future, Katherine hopes to attend law school and practice public interest law.
